Psst… Kiddos at Heritage Pointe: You Can Meet Santa at Peace Valley Winery This Weekend!

Calling all good boys and girls at Heritage Pointe! On Dec. 17-18, Santa will be making an appearance at Peace Valley Winery! St. Nick will be at the winery from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, so bring your wish lists to give to him in person.

Adults, on the other hand, should bring their love of vino. After all, Peace Valley Winery describes itself as the "premier wine tasting winery in Delaware Valley and Bucks, Montgomery County and the Lehigh Valley." The venue's tasting deal is one of the best around. For only $5 you get to try an incredible variety of small tastings. The best part? If you decide to buy a bottle to share later the tasting price is credited to your purchase. For a local vineyard, they offer extensive varietals from an oaky Chardonnay to a bold, dry Merlot.

Don't forget to take a lap around the winery's Christmas shop, where you'll find oodles of gifts for wine lovers!

Heritage Pointe Beer Enthusiasts Can Sip a Flight at Tower Hill Brewery in Chalfont

One man’s vision brought to life, the Tower Hill Brewery debuted in Chalfont in 2015. The brewpub highlights a variety of housemade beers, from a light and fruity Kolsh to a rich, malty Black IPA. No one is like the other, so consider sharing a flight of six for only $12 to get a real taste of everything. For Heritage Pointe residents who aren’t beer fans, don’t fret: Tower Hill has wine on the menu, or you could try a hard cider!

Pair your brews with some of the delicious plates on the menu. The pierogis steal the show in the appetizer round, which makes sense as the owner has a Polish upbringing. For your main dish, the eatery offers a variety of sandwiches, tacos, and entrees. The grilled lime jumbo shrimp served atop corn salsa in a tortilla bowl earn rave reviews, as do the fish and chips and the skirt steak sandwich with lemon-y arugula. Many pieces of the menu are sourced locally, so even more reason to give it a shot this weekend!

Free and fun activities for kids and families are hard to come by these days, but Kids' Castle in Doylestown’s Central Park is a fun adventure for kids that’s free of charge. The playground’s main attraction is the wooden castle that spans eight stories and was created as part of an art contest that was held in 1996. Since its groundbreaking in the late '90s, all construction and renovations to the castle have been funded by the community.

Kids can run around the maze inside of the castle, and find their way to the slide. The playground also has a pirate ship, sand boxes, monkey bars, and swings. There are picnic tables and benches nearby, as well. Located about 7.5 miles from Heritage Pointe, Kids' Castle is open daily from dawn to dusk, and kids between the ages of 5 and 12 are encouraged to play in the castle.
