Struble Trail

Schuylkill River Trail
One of the area's best trails, the Schuylkill River Trail will eventually run from Pottsville all the way to Philadelphia. The Sadsbury Woods Preserve: 508 Acres to Explore near Heritage Crystal Springs

The 508 acres of untouched space that make up Sadsbury Wood Preserve are home to a bustling population of wildlife. Parkesburg Community Day: A Local Event near Heritage Crystal Springs on August 2

Summer's a great time to enjoy an outdoor festival, and Heritage Crystal Springs residents can look forward to the upcoming Parkesburg Community Day. Taking place Saturday, August 2 in Parkesburg's Minch Park, Parkesburg Community Day is a day-long local event meant to bring neighbors together over a number of fun activities.

The day kicks off with a 5k race, and it will also feature friendly competitions like kids' bike races along with the quirky bed and outhouse races! There'll be a pie eating contest, too, as well as a timed competition among area fire companies in the Firefighters' Challenge.

Of course, it's not all competition! Parkesburg Community Day will also host a number of fun non-competitive activities, like a car show, live performances from local musicians, an array of food and craft vendors, as well as tours of the nearby Victory Brewing Company. When the sun sets, there will even be a fireworks show!
