Have a Sweet Tooth, Heritage Crystal Springs? Pop by Bell’s Delite!

Stop by Bell’s Delite the next time you have a craving for sweets, as they serve up some of the most delicious ice cream you'll find near Heritage Crystal Springs. That's probably why this family-owned establishment has been a staple in Parkesburg for over 10 years now.

Bell's Delite is known for tasty soft-serve, which is deliciously creamy and perfect in a cup or cone with some sprinkles on top. The milkshakes also earn rave reviews, as do the specialty gourmet cupcakes. We love the salty-sweet chocolate cupcake with salted caramel frosting and crushed pretzels! Pair that with a coffee or hot chocolate for the perfect combo until summer returns. If you’re the savory person in the family, no worries, they serve soup and hot dogs too!

You can always order at the traditional walk-up window, but Bell's Delite also has a drive-through, which is super convenient.

Give Your Kitchen at Heritage Crystal Springs the Night Off, and Order Takeout From Rocco & Anna’s Ristorante

If there is one kind of food that pleases everyone, even the pickiest of eaters, it’s Italian food. Rocco and Anna’s Ristorante Italiano has been a Parkesburg favorite since its debut in 1997, serving up homestyle Abruzzese cuisine with recipes passed down in their family for years.

The menu is extensive, serving up everything from pizza and stromboli to full entrees. Here, pizza is cooked Neapolitan style, with perfectly crispy thin crust and high-quality ingredients. If you’re in the mood for something more substantial, try the entrees, all of which come with a salad, bread, and a choice of pasta or fries on the side. Options include chicken, veal, or eggplant parmigiana, strip steak, and shrimp scampi. They also serve up pasta dishes, like baked manicotti or gnocchi alla Napoletana, as well as sandwiches and burgers.

Rather eat back at Heritage Crystal Springs? Visit the Rocco & Anna's Ristorante website to take a peek at the full take-out menu. While you’re browsing, look at the coupons for dining in.

This Saturday Near Heritage Crystal Springs: 2016 BrewBQ at Victory Brewing Company

Founded in 1996, Victory Brewing Company has a reputation for producing beers that are piney, citrus-y, earthy, herbal, and aromatic. Victory is even one of a few breweries in the country that uses whole flower hops, while others use a processed version.

Although Victory Brewing is headquartered in Downingtown, the majority of the beers are brewed in their Parkesburg location, which is just a little over 3 miles from Heritage Crystal Springs. Here, you can see the whole brewing process by taking a unique, informative self-guided tour. Or simply sit in Victory's on-site restaurant for a meal of tapas-style plates, like charcuterie, fried mozzarella, and flatbreads.

Of course, you'll want to pair your food with a pint! The HopDevil IPA is a crowd favorite, boasting a bold and spicy flavor with an aromatic punch. (Pair the HopDevil with the baby back ribs, which are hickory smoked and smothered in red barbecue sauce!)

Don't miss the brewery's upcoming events, like 2016 BrewBQ taking place on July 30!

Baldwin’s Book Barn: Say Hello to the Resident Cats

The only thing better than curling up with a good book on a snowy day? Curling up with a good book and a purring cat. You can do both at Baldwin's Book Barn not far from Heritage Crystal Springs in West Chester. A few resident cats live at the book store, winding between the shelves of books and around the legs of customers.

The critters are a real selling point for many patrons of Baldwin's Book Barn, but the walls and walls of books don't hurt, either. This five-story former home was built back in 1822, and it still looks much like it did back then. The only difference is that it's been stuffed with every type of gently used novel, rare book, manuscript, and map, not to mention paintings and even antiques. There are more than 300,000 pieces of inventory to explore, so allow plenty of time when you visit Baldwin's Book Barn.
