Are You Brave Enough for a Halloween Tour of Doylestown Cemetery, Heritage Summer Hill?

Dating all the way back to the 1800s, the Doylestown Cemetery isn’t your average cemetery. Originally created by a small nonprofit group who wanted to start a cemetery where all denominations would be received, it has grown to over 33 acres and comes with a rich history. For a peek inside this history, they have a variety of walking tours that unearth some of the stories behind this impressive burial ground.

Tours meet at the corner of East Court Street and Spruce Street, and are offered at 10 a.m. every Saturday and 1 p.m. every Sunday. The topics rotate, and you can find a schedule on their website (the suggested donation is $7 per person). One of the most popular tours is the Civil War Tour, where re-enactors walk you through the stories of the over 200 vets buried in the cemetery. Don't miss the special guided tours taking place on Halloween night! Grab a flashlight and some friends from Heritage Summer Hill, put on your Halloween costume, and meet at the cemetery's front gate beginning at 6 p.m. This tour is offered for free with a non-perishable food or personal care item donation for the local women’s shelter.
